Updated Power Purchase Agreements for Renewable Dispatchable Generation"

The Hawaiian Electric Light Company (HELCO) recently released their new models for Power Purchase Agreements for Renewable Dispatchable Generation for wind and solar PV.

The Hawaiian Electric Light Company (HELCO) has proposed final versions for their Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for solar PV and wind generators. These new PPAs include new requirements which dictate the provision of ancillary services such as active power control, reactive power control and frequency response. The new PPAs additionally require the solar and PV generators to install telemetry equipment capable of allowing HELCO to control specific targets for the ancillary services, such as the voltage target for automatic voltage regulation control.
